As a team we were looking for a big performance today as we set high standards for themselves an last weeks performance was just quite simply Not good enough!
We started with a great tempo an had already created a couple of chances before Robbie Da Silva raced clear and calmly slotted the ball past the keeper. That was followed by a quick fire double from winger Adam Scott and a fourth from Tommy Randall who cooly rounded the on rushing goalie. Next to get on the scoresheet was Ash Jackson it was a great opening 30mins but they weren't finished there. Scotty Taylor's turn an shot from just outside the area was a great finish for number 6, Stanground's James McDonough then scored the goal of the match with a 25yards thunderbolt before Randall got his second with another calm finish completing the scoring for the first half. Believe it or not we we're also guilty of some glaring misses.
Second half was just as one sided with Stanground trying their hardest to keep the scoreline down, they held out for 10mins before Robbie Da Silva got his second and the same player then completed his hat trick on 60mins with a crisp finish off the inside of the post. He was then replaced by Dan Fountain who scored with his first involvement racing clear and slotting past a deflated goal keeper. 17 year old left back Lewis Brisbourne scored his second goal of the season before Jackson completed the scoring with tidy side footed finish. It was the best response possible to the previous week an hopefully be the start of another good run.
