Sensational Debut for the Futsal Fledglings

Netherton United took part in their first ever Futsal game as a club today at the Kettering Science Academy.

And what a joy it was to watch.

Not only because of the great goals and the victory; but more so because of the style of football on show.

Both sides took part in a superb display of skill, trickery and fast feet. The goals were plenty and the game was played at a frantic pace.

The sides were very even at the break with it being 3-3 and very close - but Viliam Radic scored 3 very quick goals after half time to give the United team a lead which enabled the team to grow in confidence and go on to win the game, although St Neots were a constant threat and had some lovely players in their team.

However the Netherton side were looking stronger and confident, so much so that United Keeper Bartosz Berezowski's first time shot from a back pass flew into the opposition net from inside his own goal area.

All players (United and St Neots) were playing some attractive football and some of the goals rounded off some superb 1 touch passing.

Further United goals from Radic (5 in total for him), Younus (2), Nowicki (2) Thomas, Catt, Cort and rounded off by Horne ensured the opening day 14-5 victory for the Peterborough side, although St Neots were much better than the scoreline suggests.
