Autumn Edition

With the 2017-18 Season well under way we have decided to launch an occasional Newsletter to keep all our players and supporters up to date with developments and items of interest. This will be in addition to the information contained on our club website which was newly launched last year at www.nethertonutd.com. Visitors to the Grange are often amazed at the amount of football that the Club provides throughout the community. At Netherton we say that “Football is for Life” and by that we mean not only is it a great sport that produces, fitness, discipline and fun for participants but we also try to provide it at the appropriate level for just about anybody who wants to play.

Our youngest players can join at age 5 and our eldest regular player is aged 81, our clubhouse has hosted christening parties and funeral gatherings and so we try to cater for an individual’s whole life span.

Whilst it is known that some 500 players compete in the various divisions of the local Peterborough leagues it is not so well known that we provide social football for up to 150 other players and through our leadership of the Netherton Community Sports Association more than a 1000 players a week visit our site.

The latest innovation from the Club is a dedicated Ladies Walking Football group which now meets every Friday at 10:00 a.m. is suitable for ladies aged 40ish and beyond. Please just turn up to play or contact Joyce at joyce.seddon@ntlworld.com it is only £3 a session including coffee.

With Christmas rapidly approaching youngsters can now treat their guardians and parents, favourite aunts or grandparents to genuine supporters gear in the Club colours complete with the Club badge. Or you can buy bespoke training items all at a discounted price through our very own Club Shop. To view the complete list of items and to order with home delivery visit www.nethertonutd.com click the tab “shopping” and the link “Visit our Club Shop”.

Our ABILITY football group caters for children and young adults who have specific learning difficulties. It meets on a Thursday evening and there are currently some vacancies in the group. If you care for a young person with these special attributes and would like to know more please email Clara at nicholls17.cn.cn.cn@gmail.com[/size]

Ladies and Girls football is vibrant and continues to expand at the Club. We are very pleased to announce that they have been awarded Sister Club status with none other than Women’s Super League Division One team Manchester City Women for more information visit www.nethertongirlsfootball.co.uk

New this year and linking in with our integration between youth and adult football is an initiative designed to encourage more of our young players to stay with the Club. Players who are signed to our under 18s squad under the care of Lucian Stiopu will now be exempt from paying an adult signing on fee and will have their match fees discounted by 50%.
Also new this year, the Club has linked up with The 16+ One Touch Football Academy & Education Scholarship. Over 30 students are signed on to the programme which provides 16-18 year olds an education scholarship and a BTEC level 2 or 3 in Sport, alongside daily training and regular competitive fixtures.
